| Florida Horsemen's Association was founded in 1951 by a small group of horsemen in the Ocala Forest area to promote the sport of competitive trail riding in Florida. The first 100 mile three day ride was held in April of 1951, and has been held annually since. Our goal through the association is to bring fellow trail riders together and encourage the proper selection, conditioning, and feeding of the distance trail horse. We undertake a "rookie" clinic each year to educate newcomers in the sport, and we host a 50 mile and 100 mile competitive trail ride each year. |
